Dr. Erika Bocknek, lmft

Dr. Erika is a university professor, family therapist, and mom of 3. She holds a master’s degree in Couples and Family Therapy, a doctorate in Child Development, and two postdoctoral fellowships in Child Psychiatry and Infant Mental Health. She is the Associate Editor of the Infant Mental Health Journal and serves on the editorial boards of Adversity and Resilience Science and Infancy. She has published over 50 peer-reviewed research papers and book chapters for professional audiences, and she has also written articles for parents that have been seen in PBS Newshour, Marketwatch, the San Francisco Chronicle, and K’veller. She is a well-regarded trainer and has taught audiences as diverse as the psychology department at Children’s Hospital of Michigan, early childhood educators in Metro Detroit, family court judges across the state of Michigan, and the Detroit Pistons marketing department.

Kimberly Stokes, MA, MEd, TLLP

Kimberly Stokes, MA is a licensed counseling psychologist and certified elementary educator. Kimberly earned a Master’s degree in counseling psychology from Wayne State University, a Master’s degree in education from Howard University, and has taught in New York City and Michigan.

Kimberly has experience working with individuals, couples, children, and families. She also has experience with group therapy for mothers. Kimberly has worked with clients facing issues such as depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, PTSD, and substance abuse. She is passionate about working with clients facing important transitions in their lives, including entering parenthood, beginning new relationships, making career changes and educational shifts, and identity development. Kimberly specializes in working with culturally diverse clients who may have been hesitant to start therapy due to systemic barriers or cultural stigma.

She is a current doctoral student in the Counseling Psychology program and is developing an independent program of research on Black mothers’ mental wellness. She co-developed and teaches a university course on the Psychology of Happiness. Outside of the therapeutic setting, Kimberly enjoys spending time with family (especially her new nephew!), baking, and discovering new restaurants.

Dr. Brandi Pritchett-Johnson

Dr. Brandi Pritchett-Johnson (affectionately known as Dr. Brandi) is a licensed psychologist, wife, mother, educator, trainer/speaker, and more. She is the Owner of The Diane Morgan Group, a therapy and consulting firm as well as the Founder/CEO of the 501c3 non-profit organization Future 4 Teens. Dr. Brandi has served in many leadership roles including the President of the Michigan Psychological Association Foundation and board member of The Society for the Psychological Study of Culture, Ethnicity, and Race within the American Psychological Association. Dr. Brandi is a well regarded trainer and psychological expert with appearances on TVOne, VH1, local news circuits and countless invitations to serve as a keynote or featured panelist. She brings a wealth of experience and innovation from her work in the K-12 Public School System, non-profit sector, long term care industry, colleges and universities, and community mental health settings. Her experience as the Director of Clinical Training and clinical supervisor has contributed to a growing community of culturally competent clinicians. Dr. Brandi is committed to changing-the-game of mental health by supporting the next generation of mental health providers.
